Dr. Verma Discusses Chicago Bears Tight End Zach Miller’s Knee Injury
Dr. Verma, the Director of Sports Medicine at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush, sat down with Fox 32 News to discuss Bears Tight End Zach Miller’s knee injury. The injury happened in a game against the New York Giants on Sunday October 29, 2017. The injury required risky emergency surgery to save Miller’s leg.
The two major problems with the knee injury were, one, the severed artery in the leg, which provides most of the blood to the leg, and the biggest concern is that you can lose your leg if you do not restore blood flow rapidly. Fortunately, the medical staff for the Chicago Bears identified the injury quickly and were able to treat the blood flow issue.
